Silence is golden

Some of us might have heard the saying or phrase 'Silence is golden', others may have not.  After a long days work at the office, workshop, school, shop or wherever it may be, most of us crave for peace and quiet, away from all the loud chatter, aggravating noises and buzz of the day.

We long to escape the loudness to find a tranquil place where we can gather our thoughts and top up our energy.  With the general hustle and bustle of the day, it is always a welcomed relief to be able to sit, relax and unwind.

'I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world.'  John 16:33

Every individual will have their own personal way of finding relaxation.  Some will sit quietly and immerse themselves in a good book; the greatest book of all to read to find the peace you're seeking is the bible, taking time to read verses, pray and worship God.  Some will take a walk, taking in all of God's beautiful creation, contemplating things of the day with the wind blowing against you, refreshing you with the hot or cold air.

One old song immediately came to my mind when I thought of the word peace...

Peace like a river,  love like a mountain.  The wind of your Spirit is moving everywhere.  Joy like a fountain,  healing spring of life.  Come Holy Spirit let your fire fall.

I'm sure many different songs come to your mind as well, in that quiet time you can really feel God's peace reflecting on your life.  Bask in the beauty of his glorious splendour.
Take time, and make time, as there is always time for God in every area of our lives.  Put him first, and that peace, and those blessings, all the wonders you long for will come to you.

'Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.'  Psalm 37:4

Whatever your relaxation zone is, it is important that you all know and realise that you deserve that time of peace and calm, where nothing can penetrate through your own personal quiet time with God.

You hear, but do you listen?

Admittedly every once in a while we can be hearing what someone's saying but actually not really taking it to heart, for various reason...
